Should I hide or delete a comment?
Updated
Hide by default. A hidden comment disappears from public view, the author isn't told, and you can show it again. A deleted comment is gone for good.
|---|---|---|
| Who still sees it | Facebook: the author and their friends. Instagram: the author | No one |
| Can be undone | Yes, unhide it | No |
| Author likely to notice | Rarely | More likely, and may post again |
| On TikTok | Yes | Not available, Rypl hides instead |
When delete makes sense
- Scams and phishing links.
- Someone's personal data posted in public.
- Content you must remove for legal reasons.
For spam, insults and off-topic comments, hiding does the job and leaves you room to undo a mistake.

Block an author
In Conversations, open a comment and click Block author. Rypl hides their comments and every new one on that channel. They aren't notified.
Which comments get answers
By default the agent answers questions, purchases and requests. A complaint that only states a problem waits for a person, and spam is never answered.
