Why does Rypl ask for these Facebook and TikTok permissions?
Updated
Each permission lets Rypl do one part of its job: see your Pages, learn about new comments and messages, read them, and answer, hide or delete them as your Page. Allow all of them, or Rypl can't work on the Page.
Facebook and Instagram
| Permission | What Rypl uses it for |
|---|---|
pages_show_list | Shows the Pages you manage, so you can pick which to connect |
pages_manage_metadata | Tells Rypl the moment a new comment or message arrives |
pages_read_engagement | Reads your Page's posts, so replies can fit the post |
pages_read_user_content | Reads the comments people leave |
pages_manage_engagement | Replies to, hides, deletes and likes comments as your Page |
pages_messaging | Answers Messenger messages |
instagram_basic | Sees the Instagram account linked to your Page |
instagram_manage_comments | Reads, answers and hides Instagram comments |
instagram_manage_messages | Answers Instagram Direct messages |
business_management | Finds Pages in your Business portfolio |
Facebook's window describes them in plain words; these are their technical names.
None of these give Rypl access to your ad budgets or payment methods.
TikTok
TikTok lists several permissions. Rypl needs four of them: Ad Account Management, Ad Comments, Basic User Info and TikTok Business Access, to find your ad accounts, read the comments on your ads and hide or answer them.
If you unticked one
Rypl shows "Facebook permissions declined" or "Missing required permission(s)". Connect again and allow everything Rypl asks for.
