How to Stop Spam Comments on TikTok Ads (2026)
For TikTok ads, the anti-spam tools TikTok documents are in TikTok Ads Manager. There are three: Blocked Words hides comments that contain words you list, Block User hides everything one account posts on your ads, and Comments Manager lets you hide the rest one by one or in bulk. Switching comments off for an ad group also stops spam, but it removes buyers' questions with it, and TikTok recommends keeping comments on.

How do you stop spam comments on TikTok ads?
Add the spammers' words to Blocked Words in TikTok Ads Manager, block the accounts behind it, and hide the rest in Comments Manager. Turning comments off is the last resort.
Filter spam words with Blocked Words
Hides comments that contain words you list, on the ads in that ad account.
- 1
Open Blocked Words
In TikTok Ads Manager, hover over Tools, click Comments or Comments Manager, then click Blocked Words in the left-hand menu.
- 2
Add the words spammers use
Click Add, enter the words separated by commas and click Confirm. Up to 500 words, each up to 30 Latin characters. TikTok says the list hides the comments and blocks the users who use them.
- 3
Add the variations yourself
In languages with spaces between words, matching is by whole word and ignores case and punctuation: a blocked I love catches I, love you but not Ilove or I loved. Add common misspellings as separate words.
Block the accounts behind it
For accounts that keep coming back to your ads.
- 1
Block from a comment
In Comments Manager, choose one of the account's comments and click Block User.
- 2
Know what blocking does
All of their new and existing comments on your ads are hidden. They can still comment, but only they can see it. Unblock User makes their comments visible again.
- 3
Block by TikTok ID
You can also block accounts in the Block Users section under Assets, using the account's TikTok ID.
Clear what gets through
Hide spam by hand, or switch comments off for an ad group as a last resort.
- 1
Hide in bulk
In Comments Manager, tick the box next to each spam comment and hide them together. Filter the kinds of comments shown, or click an ad group, to work through one at a time.
- 2
Turn comments off for a flooded ad group
Edit the ad group, open Placements > Advanced settings and switch off User comment (Allow comments for some advertisers). Confirm with Turn off, then Continue.
- 3
Switch them back on later
Follow the same steps and turn User comment back on. The setting applies to the whole ad group, and TikTok recommends keeping comments on to help ads get more impressions and conversions.
What can't TikTok do on its own?
Ads Manager filters by the words and accounts you choose; TikTok's help documents no automatic spam, link or new-account filter for ad comments.
- Blocked Words holds up to 500 words of up to 30 Latin characters and matches whole words, so new spellings get through until you add them.
- Comments that contain a blocked word can't be hidden or unhidden by hand, and deleting the word makes them public again.
- Bulk actions stop at hide, unhide and export, and TikTok's help lists no way to delete comments other people leave on your ads.
- Turning comments off works per ad group and takes the buyers' questions down with the spam.
How do you stop TikTok ad spam automatically?
RYPL reads new comments on your TikTok ads and hides spam by what it means, not by a word list.
- Spam, scam links and abuse on your TikTok ads are hidden, judged by meaning, so new wording doesn't need a new keyword. Our AI spots spam in about 1.7 seconds on average, by our own measurement across platforms.
- Comments arrive through TikTok's comment webhook, with a sync every five minutes as a backup. TikTok doesn't let RYPL delete comments, so a delete rule hides instead.
- Banned words and author blocking on every plan; from Pro, moderation rules in plain words, such as hide comments with links to other shops, with review first if you want to check before it acts.
- Complaints aren't hidden: they go to the Needs attention queue for a person. RYPL works on TikTok ads only, through TikTok's official API.
