ManyChat is a DM funnel builder. If you are leaving because of per-contact pricing after the March 2026 restructure, or because its AI comment replies cover only Instagram and are still in beta, pick by what you actually need. AI replies in the comments: Rypl ($19 to $89 flat, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) or ReplyZen ($29 to $249, per reply, with human review). Moderation first: CommentGuard ($29 to $199, per comment) or NapoleonCat rules. A like-for-like DM flow builder: Chatfuel ($69 list, unlimited contacts). One inbox for everything: Brandwise ($49). Many channels including YouTube and LinkedIn: Replient (€39). Free and native: Meta Business Suite.
We build Rypl, one of the tools below, so read this as a vendor's list. Prices and features were checked against each product's public site in September 2026, and each entry says what the tool does not do.
What does ManyChat do, and what doesn't it do?
ManyChat automates the conversation that happens after someone engages: comment on a post with a keyword, get a DM, enter a flow that nurtures toward a purchase. It is very good at that. In the public comment section its comment triggers post a line you wrote in advance, which ManyChat can rotate and filter by keyword. On Instagram only, its Manychat AI (paid plans, in beta) can now answer questions in comments from a knowledge library (AI Replies) and reply to positive comments in your tone (AI Comments). Its AI Step (Pro plan and above) generates responses inside DM flows.
Since ManyChat's restructure on 2 March 2026 there are five tiers priced by monthly active contacts: Free (25), Essential $17/mo (250), Pro $39/mo (2,500), Business $99/mo (7,500) and Advanced $199/mo (25,000), or $14, $29, $69 and $139 a month billed yearly. Past the limit you pay per extra active contact: $0.10 on Essential, $0.05 on Pro, $0.025 on Business month to month ($0.08, $0.038 and $0.018 billed yearly). A month with 20,000 active contacts means Advanced ($139 to $199) or, on Business with overage, about $294 billed yearly or $412 month to month. How the two tools split the work: Rypl vs ManyChat.
So the question behind "ManyChat alternative" is usually one of three:
- I want the public comments under my ads answered and cleaned, with AI.
- I want DM flows like ManyChat's, on a pricing model that does not punish growth.
- I want one inbox for comments and messages across channels.
The list below is grouped that way.

1. Rypl: AI replies and moderation for ad comments
Rypl does the part of the job ManyChat covers only in an Instagram beta: it replies in the comment section, with a reply generated for that comment, on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok ads. It connects through the official Meta Graph API and TikTok's Marketing API and answers as your Page in under 60 seconds, in the commenter's language; on Pro and up the reply is context-aware, written after reading the ad creative (image, video, copy) and the thread. Spam, scams and abuse are hidden in about 1.7 seconds. On Pro and Ultra, buying-intent comments (price, shipping, availability) are detected, answered first and can be handed to a person; Rypl users typically convert about 28% more conversations with intent detection on.
- Pricing: Simple $19/mo, Pro $49/mo, Ultra $89/mo, about 20% off yearly. Flat: no cap on comments processed, so a viral ad does not change the invoice. 7-day trial.
- Platforms: Facebook and Instagram ads and posts plus TikTok Ads, on every plan; Messenger and Instagram Direct replies.
- Best for: advertisers whose sales are leaking in the comments, agencies with several client pages (Ultra: unlimited accounts, pages, agents).
- Not for: multi-step DM funnels, broadcasts, subscriber lists. Rypl does not build flows; many teams run it next to a flow builder.
2. ReplyZen: AI comment replies with human review
ReplyZen is the closest AI-native alternative to Rypl: AI replies and moderation for Facebook and Instagram, with TikTok in beta. Its distinctive feature is confidence-based publishing: set a threshold (50, 65, 80 or 95%) and replies below it wait in a draft queue for a person; or run fully manual. It can also add tracked short links to replies and report clicks per link (clickable on Facebook; Instagram and TikTok show links as plain text).
- Pricing: Basic $29/mo (500 AI replies, 2,500 moderations), Pro $69 (1,500 / 7,500), Enterprise $149 (5,000 / 25,000), Ultra $249 (10,000 / 50,000), VAT excluded. Unlimited pages, agents and team members on every tier. 14-day trial with 500 replies and 500 moderations. No free plan.
- Best for: teams that want to approve replies before they go live, or need link-level attribution from comments.
- Not for: volume that spikes; every AI reply is metered. Head-to-head: Rypl vs ReplyZen.
3. CommentGuard: moderation first, AI agents second
CommentGuard started as a hiding tool and is still strongest there: AI detection of profanity, negativity and custom topics in any language, plus pattern filters for links, images, contact details, emojis and competitor names, a "hide all new comments until reviewed" mode and a delete mode. It has since added AI agents that generate replies from your knowledge, the post content and the thread, with an optional delay so they read as human, and drafts for review.
- Pricing: Starter $29/mo (5,000 comments), Growth $49 (10,000), Pro $99 (25,000), Elite $199 (50,000), larger plans available. Unlimited Facebook and Instagram pages, team members and AI responses on every tier. 7-day trial, no card.
- Platforms: Facebook and Instagram only.
- Best for: brands whose main pain is abuse and spam on Meta ads.
- Not for: TikTok; and the quota counts every comment processed, so a busy Page pays for moderation volume even when it needs few replies.
4. Chatfuel: the like-for-like DM flow builder
Chatfuel is what to pick if you want what ManyChat does, priced differently. It builds automated conversations for Instagram, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp, with a shared inbox, contact segmentation and templates, plus AI replies from a knowledge base and automatic lead scoring on its Business plan. Chatfuel is an official Meta partner and a WhatsApp Business Solution Provider.
- Pricing: Business US$69/mo list price with unlimited contacts and $20 of AI credits a month under fair-use limits (a limited offer running to 30 September 2026 cuts it to about $20); 10% off yearly. Agency tiers from US$90/mo billed yearly. Every plan starts with a free trial.
- Best for: DM funnels, lead qualification, WhatsApp.
- Not for: the public comment section. It can auto-reply to post and Reels comments, but it is built to move commenters into a DM, and its pricing page lists no comment hiding or moderation.
5. Brandwise: one AI inbox for comments, messages and email
Brandwise merges Facebook, Instagram and TikTok comments with email and live chat into one inbox, adds AI moderation, AI replies, smart labels and summaries, and connects to Shopify so replies can reference orders. Every plan includes its "Obie" agent, workflow automations and a self-improving knowledge base; Enterprise adds volume and custom work.
- Pricing: Standard $49/mo for 3,000 AI credits (20% off annually); Enterprise from $402/mo billed annually for 32,000 credits. 7-day trial with every feature.
- Best for: e-commerce support teams that want comments and tickets in one place.
- Not for: pure ad-comment automation at volume; credits are consumed by every AI action across every channel.
6. Replient.ai: AI replies across the most channels
Replient.ai covers Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and app-store and Google reviews, learns tone and product facts from your website, categorizes comments by sentiment and topic, and runs automations by keyword, sentiment or content, including DM automations on Pro and above. It is an Austrian company with EU hosting and GDPR positioning.
- Pricing: Lite €39/mo (1,000 comments, 1 brand), Pro €129/mo (4,000 comments, 4 brands), Enterprise €249/mo (10,000 comments, 10 brands), excluding VAT, 10% off annually. A comment counts against the limit as soon as the AI processes it. 14-day free trial, no card.
- Best for: brands active on YouTube or LinkedIn as well as Meta, or that want review replies in the same tool.
- Not for: high comment volume on a single brand; the metered model gets expensive quickly.
7. NapoleonCat: rule-based moderation inside a suite
NapoleonCat is a social media management platform with a unified inbox, analytics, publishing and an Auto-moderation module that hides or deletes by rule and fires preset replies to common questions, on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok ads, including dark posts. Since mid-2026 it also offers AI Reply Suggestions (beta): the AI drafts a reply, and a person approves, edits or discards it before anything posts.
- Pricing: bundles start at 5 profiles and 2 users: Standard $79/mo, Pro $89/mo and Expert $119/mo billed yearly ($89 / $109 / $139 month to month). Auto-moderation is on Expert and Enterprise only; Standard has no inbox, and Pro adds the inbox and AI drafts but not auto-moderation.
- Best for: teams that want moderation as one feature inside a full suite.
- Not for: AI replies that post on their own; automated replies are presets, and every AI draft waits for a person. Head-to-head: Rypl vs NapoleonCat.
8. Meta Business Suite: free, native, rule-based
Before paying anyone, know what Meta gives you. Business Suite includes automations for instant replies, away messages, FAQ and keyword answers in Messenger, Instagram Direct and WhatsApp, plus a comment-to-message automation that sends a DM when a comment contains a keyword, and the Inbox collects comments and messages in one queue. For comments under ads, Moderation Assist in the Page's Professional dashboard hides new comments by criteria: links, images, videos, custom keywords, profanity, and commenters with no profile picture, no friends or followers, an account under a week old, or recently removed comments. It only hides; it does not delete or reply. We walk through it in how to hide comments on Facebook ads automatically.
- Pricing: free.
- Best for: a single Page with low volume and simple needs.
- Not for: replying to the actual question, moderating by meaning, or TikTok. The rules match patterns; nothing here understands what a comment asks.
How to choose
- The sales are leaking in the comments, and you run paid social: Rypl. Flat price, replies in under a minute, TikTok included.
- You want a person approving replies before they post, or link-level attribution: ReplyZen.
- Abuse and spam on Meta ads is the main problem: CommentGuard, or Rypl if you also need the questions answered and TikTok covered.
- You need DM funnels, just not ManyChat's pricing: Chatfuel.
- Comments are a support channel next to email and chat: Brandwise.
- YouTube, LinkedIn or reviews matter as much as Meta: Replient.
- You want a full social suite with rules: NapoleonCat.
- Budget is zero: Meta Business Suite plus Moderation Assist.
A last note on the pricing model, because it decides the real cost. ManyChat charges per contact, ReplyZen per AI reply, CommentGuard and Replient per comment processed, Brandwise per AI credit, NapoleonCat per profile and seat, Chatfuel per plan with an AI credit allowance. Only the per-plan and per-seat models (Rypl, NapoleonCat and, within its AI allowance, Chatfuel) hold their price when a post takes off. Whatever you pick, model the month your best ad runs, not the quiet one.
Start a free 7-day trial of Rypl and run it next to ManyChat: Rypl answers the public comments, ManyChat keeps the DMs. The two work side by side.
