How to Auto-Reply to TikTok Ad Comments (2026)
TikTok's help documents no automatic reply for ad comments. In TikTok Ads Manager you answer them one at a time in Comments Manager, where you can type a reply or pick a saved response. TikTok's automatic messages and its Message Assistant chatbot work in direct messages, not under ads. Automatic public replies come from tools connected through TikTok's API for Business, which allows replies to top-level comments on ads run under certain identities.

Can you auto-reply to comments on TikTok ads?
Not with TikTok's own tools: Ads Manager lets you reply by hand, with saved responses. Automatic replies need a tool on TikTok's API, which allows replies to top-level comments only.

Open the comment
In TikTok Ads Manager, hover over Tools, click Comments or Comments Manager, and click the comment. You need to be linked to a TikTok account to manage comments.

Reply or use a saved response
Click Reply, then type your answer or pick a saved response. The reply appears in the comment section as the business entity used to create the ad.

On Spark Ads you need authorization to use the identity that created the ad. With Use account owned by you, only the user linked to that TikTok account can reply; with an authorized account or post, only someone with access to it can.

The tool is connected to your TikTok ad account by a user who is linked to the ad's identity and has comment management permission.

The tool replies under the comment. TikTok allows replies to first-level comments only, on ads whose identity is a TikTok User (your linked Business Account) or a Custom User.
What can't TikTok do on its own?
TikTok documents no auto-reply for ad comments: in Ads Manager, each reply is typed or picked from your saved responses by hand.
- TikTok's API allows replies to first-level comments only, so a question asked inside a thread can't be answered through it.
- API replies work on ads run under a TikTok User or Custom User identity. Spark Ads run from an authorized post, or from an account added through Business Center, aren't covered.
- Automatic messages (welcome message, keyword reply, suggested questions, chat prompts) and Message Assistant answer direct messages, not comments. Message Assistant is in testing with a limited set of Verified Business Accounts.
- Comment-to-Message, which lets a Business Account send a direct message in response to high-intent comments, is only for Business Accounts registered in Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand, and TikTok's docs describe it for video posts without mentioning ads.
